New TO MBC?

We're so glad you are here (checking us out or already having checked us out). We have provided some information below for you to get to know us a little better...

Weekly services are currently being held in person and live streamed on our website, Facebook Live, and YouTube at 10:00 AM every Sunday. Bible Study and Sunday School are every Sunday at 11:00 AM. (One Adult class meets on Sunday mornings at 8:30 AM.)

Bible Study for students and children are at 6:00 PM every Wednesday. Adult Bible Study is at 6:30 PM.

The church address is 51 Louisa Avenue, Mineral, VA 23117. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 447, Mineral, VA 23117. [MAP]

What can I expect during a service?

Our service is about 60 minutes in length.

10:00 AM
The service begins with our Unity Choir (combo Praise Team and Traditional Choir) leading us in singing some songs (which the lyrics will be projected onto monitor at the front of the Sanctuary, so you can sing along if you wish). Feel free to engage with our worship service however you feel comfortable. After the music portion of the service is complete, our Senior Pastor will come out to share an encouraging and hope-filled message about Jesus.

We do collect an offering at each service, but do not feel obligated to put money in the offering plate. We encourage you to fill out a contact card and put in the offering plate as we would like connect with you in the upcoming week. NOTE: the offering basket is available at the main door of the Worship Center before and after the service.

Nursery for children from birth to age 3 is available.

what kind of church is mineral baptist church?

Mineral Baptist Church (MBC) is a Baptist church voluntarily (and sometimes loosely) connected with the national Southern Baptist Convention, the state Baptist General Association of Virginia, and the regional Goshen Baptist Association. While we are partners and affiliates of these organizations there are no groups or leaders who lead the church from the outside. Our connection with all three organizations is for the purpose of collaborating on sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ here locally and around the world through financial support for missionaries as well as direct, personal involvement in mission trips and other local ministries. MBC is led by leaders from within the church.

*Note: The photo above features a group of pastors (including our youth pastor Kris Hutchinson) from the Goshen Baptist Association who served together on a mission trip to Panama in 2019.

I have Kids...

We love our children and want our children to grow up loving God and loving church, and at Mineral Baptist we make this a priority. We also make your children’s safety a priority.

On Sunday mornings, we do have check in processes for our nursery as well as our Children's Sunday School classes. The check in station for our nursery is right across the hall from our worship center.

Kids age 4+ are encouraged to worship in the main service with their families. However, you will see many of our kids in this age range helping and serving in a variety of ways such as readers, ushers, a/v workers, and musicians.

Birth-5th Grade
If you have kids and their ages range from birth to fifth grade, on Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM, we offer age appropriate classes in our Education Wing (the part of the main building closest to the Historic Sanctuary). Our Greeter Team is available to assist you in locating the right class and getting your children checked in.

We also offer DIG IN from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM every Wednesday during the school year.

Student Ministry (6th-12th Grades) - Mineral Baptist Church Student Ministry (MBCSM)
On Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM, MBC has age appropriate classes for our middle school and high school students in the Historic Sanctuary.

On Wednesday nights, Youth Group for all Middle School and High School students is from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM in the Historic Sanctuary. In addition, MBCSM has a full schedule of events, experiences, and cross-cultural mission trips that help students take steps in owning their faith in God and joining God on His mission. Find out more about MBCSM HERE.

Don't have Kids...

For those arriving without kids, please join us in the Worship Center at 10:00 AM for our main service and consider attending one of our 6 adult classes ranging in ages and topics at 11:00 AM (our Sunday School Hour). If you are unsure of where to start consider our "Discover Mineral" class or ask a member of our Greeter Team.

When I attend for the first time, where do I go?

When you arrive Sunday morning, enter the large parking lot (coming from the direction of the train tracks - 522 North - it will be the first entrance on your left; coming 522 South it will be the second entrance on your right). The first building you approach is the main building where our worship services are held.*

The second building (the one with the giant light up cross above the doors) is our Family Life Center. The smaller white church adjacent to the main building is our Historic Sanctuary.

What Should I Wear?

Wear what you'll be comfortable wearing. You will see people, including staff, dressed relaxed and casual as well as in suits and ties. Our Senior Pastor normally wears a suit only "because it is easy".
