PURPOSE: PROMOTING THE DISCOVERY OF JESUS THROUGH SPORTS
Upward Sports™ utilizes sports in order to connect with families in our surrounding community while promoting the discovery of Jesus Christ. Participants will learn valuable lessons about life and faith in addition to practical, sport-specific fundamentals.

Kris Hutchinson
Director & Soccer League Director
Pastor Kris (PK) joined the Mineral Baptist staff in 2018 as Associate Pastor and Student Minister. As a former three-sport high school athlete and college football player, PK has also served in administrative and coaching roles in college intramurals, middle school sports, and county recreation leagues. He is also a Virginia High School League football and basketball official. PK helps provide unity and consistency to our Upward Sports Ministry making it a better experience for our families and participants.

Assistant Flag Football League Directors
Dave has served as Flag Football League Director since 2017. As a multi-sport athlete throughout high school and college and many years as a coach at various levels, Dave made a career of athletic administration being recognized locally and nationally and was even named Virginia Athletic Director of the Year. Dave helped relaunch the Flag Football ministry with a heart to serve kids and connect with the community.
CHRIS & MINDY POLAND
Basketball League Directors
The Polands have served as Basketball League Directors since 2019. As runners and former high school basketball players, the Polands have coached Upward basketball for several seasons. Chris has also coached soccer for Upward and in other environments. The Polands strive to show every kid that they are uniquely created and loved unconditionally by God and that they are good enough for our league.
