Pastor Tom was born in Baltimore Maryland and has a B.S. from the University of Maryland and M.Div from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft Worth TX. He has more than 32 years as Senior Pastor experience pastoring Virginia churches, Immanuel Baptist, Amissville Baptist, and Lower Northampton Baptist. Pastor Tom retired from Navy Reserve Chaplain Corps after 28 years of serve with the Navy, Marines and Coast Guard. He is married to Lyn and they have two sons, John and his wife Meredith, two grandchildren, Ella and Noah, Joshua and his wife Ashely and grandson Alphonzo. Lyn is a retired teaching assistant and has a heart for missions.

Associate Pastor & Student Minister | Upward Sports Director
Kris is a North Carolina native. Having served in a variety of ministries since 2006, he has been serving as a mentor and pastor to students since 2009. Kris joined the team here at Mineral as the Associate Pastor and Student Minister in 2018. Kris is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, where he majored in Political Science. He completed his Master of Divinity at Wake Forest University School of Divinity in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Kris is married to his wife Kendall. They have no children, but two golden retrievers. Kris enjoys reading, playing basketball and watching classic TV shows.

Nikisha Diggs is married to Mr. Bernard Diggs and they have two daughters, Tierra Tyler and Amber Diggs, and one son, Raheem Lawrence and one beautiful granddaughter Kennedy Diggs. Raised in Washington D.C, she graduated from Louisa County High School in 1994. Nikisha has a love for Jesus Christ. While a member at Mt. Hope Baptist Church she served on numerous committees and ministries, including the Sanctuary Choir, the Youth and Young Adult Choir, the J.E. Ensemble, the Celebration Choir, Deaconess Ministry, Strands of Pearls Women’s Ministry, Scholarship Committee, All for Christ Youth Ministry, Saved by Grace Praise Dance Ministry. Nikisha established One Accord Gospel Band as an outreach ministry. God has truly blessed Nikisha and she firmly believes that she will continue to, “press toward the mark”, so that every gift that God has given to her will be used for His Glory!
Carolyn Sims
Administrative Assistant
Carolyn is the primary point of contact for Mineral Baptist Church. Her administrative skills are a cornerstone for a smooth operating office in support of our numerous programs. Carolyn provides a point of contact to all church members and community persons in need. Carolyn and her family have been members of MBC for many years. Carolyn worked in banking and was a teacher for the Mineral Christian Preschool. She has filled many positions in the church including teaching Sunday school, Bible school, chaperoning youth, and Music Director. Carolyn enjoys reading, crocheting, music, spending time with family and watch detective shows. Husband, Charles, is a retired Life Insurance Manager.
