Youth Program

	The Mineral Baptist Church Youth Program is designed to provide young people, within and from outside the MBC congregation, an opportunity to mature their faith, live out their Christian lives and contribute to their community in important ways. Led since 2004 by Jim Stone MBC’s dynamic Associate Pastor, the program offers local missions, trips, worship activities, fund raisers, music and drama, all designed to demonstrate in a tangible way that having fun can be part of a Christian life, and that Christian living can be fun. The program is offered to young people 7th grade through high school. The group meets regularly each Wednesday evening at 6:30PM year-round.  From September through May, the meeting begins following 5:45PM church dinner. For youth without transportation, the MBC bus ministry provides rides to and from Wednesday meetings and other selected activities.  All who meet the age requirements are welcome.  Please contact the church office for more information.
MBC Youth Events: 7th - 12th grade	Feb 12 Tubing trip to Wintergreen Ski Resort ($25 Leave church at 9:30am)   Feb 13* Spaghetti dinner fund raiser following the 11am service.   May 1* Youth dinner and baked goods auction following 11am service   June 20-25 Centrifuge at Ridgecrest NC:  Cost $75 for those participating in fund raising activities Click here for more information   July 6-9 Myrtle Beach mission trip  Cost $50  Leave church at 7am    July 29-30 Overnight camping trip to Shenandoah Valley, rafting down the Shennandoah River on Saturday (cost $20, leave church at 1:00pm Friday) Bring: sleeping bags (air mattress optional), 2 changes of clothes, tie-on shoes,(NO flip-flops on the river), towels, personal hygiene items, pillows, bathing suits (pool at campgroup), extra $$$ for food on Saturday during the trip back to the church (all other meals will be provided at campsite)    (*) Fund Raiser
MBC Youth Events: 4th-6th grade	Fri. Jan 21 Movie Night at the Family Life Center:   6-10pm, dinner provided  January fund raising* RUSH will sell Joe Corbi pizzas and other products beginning mid-January for delivery late February or early March. Sat. Feb 19 Fun Day: youth will go to an age-appropriate movie in the afternoon or go bowling after Upward basketball, stopping for dinner afterwards.  Sat. Feb. 26* R.U.S.H. will serve dinner for  MBC Spirits Gospel Sing as a fund-raiser.  Dinner will be served 6-7pm.  Menu and ways for youth to be involved will be available after year-end. Sat. Mar. 19 Afternoon Roller Skating trip. June 27-July 1 CENTRIKID Camp at Eagle Eyrie, Lynchburg, VA.  Verbal commitment by Feb. required for attendance.  $75.00 deposit required for attendance plus participation in fund-raising events.  (Full cost is $ 300 without fund-raising participation.)
