Outreach
While works alone will not save us, no believer who has truly made Jesus Christ Lord of his or her life can be unmoved by the needs all around us. As believers, we are called to give aid where it is needed and to help where it will save lives, families... and sometimes souls as well. "...whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 25)
MBC takes that exhortation seriously, committing itself and its people to a variety of outreach ministries to our community. The list below describes some of them, but frankly, the list grows as needs become visible and MBC members step up to help meet them:
Food Pantry:

|
MBC, working with other churches and relief organizations in the surrounding area, collects, stocks and distributes regular food packages once a month to individuals and families in need in our local community.
In addition, MBC is a distribution center for the nationwide Angel Food Ministries program, providing nutritious food to anyone at high discounts from normal retail. You may order at the church or online at www.angelfoodministries.org Go to Host Site MBC
|
| Bus Ministry: |
Transports children and adults in the Mineral area without their own transportation to and from church on Sundays. Call (540) 894-4234 for more information. |
| Family Support Ministry: |
Provides spiritual leadership/support and counseling in financial, marital, parenting, and personal problems to those who are struggling in these areas.
The Family Support Ministry also participates in MBC's selection and presentation of programs to help families and couples repair or tune their relationships.

| Home Bound Ministry: |

Local Missions Ministry:
|

|
Motorcycle Ministry:

|
The MBC motorcyle ministry, Mission Riders for Christ, was founded in 2008 by MBC members Frank Bonillo and Rob Wells, both avid riders. At the group's first meeting, in August of 2008, 13 hardy souls showed up, and the group has grown from that start.
The group's mission is to draw other bikers to the Lord through outreach, support and guidance to the MBC congregation and our community. Anyone with a love of motorcycling is invited to join.
Meetings are held monthly. The date for each meeting is displayed on the MBC website calendar ("calendar" button above)

Sports Ministries:
Soccer Cheerleading Basketball Flag Football |
Mineral Baptist Church offers a wide range of Christ-centered sports programs for children and youth from Kindergarten through 6th grade. Upward basketball and cheerleading are offered in the Family Life Center gym while Upward soccer and flag football are conducted on the church's field area.
Participants learn the fundamentals of sports and cheerleading in a non-competitive, Christ-centered atmosphere in which "everyone plays and everyone is a winner." Achievement and effort in each program is recognized at an awards celebration dinner capping each season.
The programs are offered at a modest fee to cover equipment and uniforms. Scholarships are available for those with special financial needs.
In addition to the organized sports programs, MBC's Family Life Center is the hub for a growing list of sports activities. Exercise classes on Monday Wednesday and Friday mornings. NOTE: Gym in use for Mineral Baptist Upward Basketball Activities during the winter months. No Open Gym during this time. |
Visitation Ministry:
|
Visits visitors and provides information about the church activities and ministries, and visits persons who have missed several weeks |
Woman’s Missionary Union:
|
(WMU) challenges Christian believers to understand and be radically involved in the mission of God. At MBC, we view our mission as helping to share the good news of Jesus Christ, by reaching out to the lost and hurting world. We work to guide our church in different mission opportunities as well as learn about missionary workers out in the field.
Our church is active in local missions as well as the international Lottie Moon offering and the Virginia Alma Hunt offering and North America’s Annie Armstrong offering. We also work together with the Goshen Baptist Association in reaching out to the community. We frequently get together for prayer, arts and crafts projects, lunches, and a general good time while working for the Lord. Regular meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at 10:00a.m. at the church. Contact: Lucetta Lauber (540) 967-0715 |
