Jordan's Path prayer & meditation center
The Jordan’s Path prayer and meditation center is dedicated in memory of Jordan Henshaw who passed away in a tragic accident Oct. 20, 2005 at age fifteen. Many youth and adults in Mineral Baptist Church and the community have been positively impacted by his life and faith.
Jordan’s Path ministry exists to promote the spiritual growth of the community through prayer, meditation, fellowship and love.

Jordan Christopher Henshaw was raised at Mineral Baptist Church. He attended Mineral Baptist Preschool from age three, church regularly with his family, Bible school in the summer and was a Junior Deacon. His early life was deeply influenced by church programs, by teachers like Sally Andrews, Carolyn Sims and Edna Jones and by Centrifuge, his favorite activity, in which he participated each summer. He had many friends with whom he enjoyed spending time and loved to ride his bike and skateboard.

At age nine, Jordan and his childhood friend Michael Smith decided they were ready to join the church and be baptized. Later, fourteen year old Jordan met Jim Stone, MBC’s first youth minister and, at first, resisted the authority figure. Over time, however, Jordan came to respect Pastor Jim and encouraged other youth to do so as well.

In the summer of 2005, during the week at Centrifuge, Jordan approached Pastor Jim, asking that he be saved again; “It didn’t take the first time, and I want to be saved and baptized again.” Jordan was baptized a second time in August 2005 before the church and his friends as a testimony to his recommitted life. |
