Tom Everett
Senior Pastor

Pastor Tom has more than 26 years as a Senior Pastor and 28 years as a Reserve Chaplain serving men and women of the Navy and Marine Corps.  He has experience with AWANA, Upwards Sports, community missions, and has partnered with Summit Christian Academy.

Tom served as Senior Pastor for Immanuel Baptist Church, Amissville Baptist Church and Norhthampton Baptist Church, all in Virginia, and was a Navy Reserve Chaplain from 1988-2016.   He served on the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team and the North American Mission Board Disaster Response Team. He also served as a Chaplain with Wounded Warrior Battalion East and as Director/Facilitator for Chaplain Religious Enrichment Development Operation (CREDO).

Tom received a B.S. from University of Maryland and a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He also attended the Navy Chaplain School and Staff Office Leadership Training.

Tom and his wife Lyn have two sons, John and Joshua, a Daughter-in-law Meredith and granddaughter Ella.  Lyn is a retired reading tutor with a heart for missions.

Karen Moskowitz
Minister of Music/Choir Director

Karen was born and raised inAnne Arundel County, Maryland and has enjoyed a life-time of involvement in church ministries and performance in music and theater. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Western Maryland College (now called McDaniel College). Her professional experience includes work as a Music Therapist, a Kindergarten – 8th Grade Music Teacher, a Choral Conductor and Director of Music Ministires at her former church. Karen discovered Mineral Baptist Church after she moved to Lake Anna with her husband, Dan and their three children in 2008.

She became an active member of the Celebration Choir, and sang with several vocal ensembles before joining the Mineral Baptist Church staff as Choir Director and Minister of Music in 2011.

Carolyn Sims
Ministry Assistant:

Carolyn has been an important part of the Mineral Baptist Church staff for nearly two decades; as a Preschool Teacher in Mineral Christian Preschool followed by 10 years in the MBC church office. Carolyn also worked for the County of Louisa & Virginia Community Bank. She is married to Charles C. Sims, a retired insurance agent. They have one son, a grandson, step grandson, & great-grandson.

Carolyn is a lifelong resident of Louisa County & a member of Mineral Baptist Church for forty three years. Family, music, crocheting, and reading are Carolyn’s favorite things.

Tammy Trice
MCP/ Preschool Director:

Tammy has lived in Louisa all her life. She is married to Andy Trice, Captain of the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office. Tammy attended PVCC. She has worked in the banking industry and for Clinique Cosmetics. Her favorite job so far has been working with children at Mineral Christian Preschool. Prior to accepting the Director’s position, Tammy taught in the classroom for 11 years.

Spending time with family and friends, cooking and reading are among her favorite things to do in her spare time.
